Cam Newton Rushed to Hospital After Car Accident

Cam Newton was rushed to a Charlotte hospital after a two car accident appeared near the Panthers stadium early Tuesday. Newton has two fractures in his lower back. It is unclear yet rather or not Newton will be able to play for the rest of the season for the Panthers.

The car accident happened at around 12:30 p.m. and both drivers were rushed to a nearby hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries. “Cam Newton has two transverse process fractures in his lower back and no further internal injuries.” Newton’s injury is the same injury that sidelined Tony Romo earlier this season for one game.

Panthers owner, Jerry Richardson, told reporters earlier that Newton will be kept overnight for observation and that Newton was “in good shape.”

The fourth year quarterback, whose team is just one game back from first in the division, might missed the remainder of the season; however no details have been made at this time.
